More Info about Operate Shooting Star - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 8-9-2009
Sorry for the late post about this. The September Coro Coro has arrived, and we do know a little bit more about Operate Shooting Star.

Protodude's Blog
Not much is known at the moment, but what we can gather is that SS Rockman is playable within the EXE universe. Other characters such as Harp Note, appear as well.

Other tidbits:
- SSRockman and Rockman EXE are playable.
- Clock Man (aka Clock Genius) is a Navi from the future. Interacts with characters from the EXE universe.
- Additionally, Clock Man gets his own area.
- Graphically, the game uses the sprites from EXE 1.
- There is a map for the Internet on the bottom screen
- No word on how the battles will play out. Next issue of Coro Coro might touch on this.

More info as it develops. Many thanks to TMMN for helping gather the info. This was a collaborative effort between Heat Man and myself. :D

Rockman.exe Operation Shooting Star is a remake - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 7-15-2009
Its been a rumor for a while, but it has been confirmed by the launch of the teaser site. Rockman.exe Operation Shooting Star is not a crossover, but, instead, it is a remake of the first MegaMan Battle Network game.

I do not know what the changes will be in the game, but it is speculated that it will have the same battle style as Shooting Star Rockman (MegaMan Starforce).

MegaMan 2 for iPhone Updated! - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 7-4-2009
Well, Capcom recently updated MegaMan II for the iPhone. I never though that they would. Fortunately, they fixed many, many issues.

Here is the list of fixes:
* Control Enhancements
* New Classic Mode!
* Landscape view now added
* Audio issues have been addressed
* Auto fire available when Classic Mode is turned OFF
* Floor sliding has been added to the Flash Man stage

Basically, Capcom took everyone's advice and fixed the game.

Landscape view is a great addition. I can't really tell the difference with the controls in portrait view, but landscape view uses completely different controls that are much better. Classic Mode makes the game like the original by making Mega Man not jump so high and everything slower. The audio does sound better, but that may just be because I haven't played it in a while. The game is now more difficult with auto-fire turned off in Classic Mode. I cannot find the floor sliding in the Flash Man stage. Though I'm not really sure what I should look for...

If you haven't gotten it yet because of the bad reviews, now is a great time to get it, as the game is much better than before and make most of the bad review null and void.

New Mega Man Game - Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 6-22-2009
Wow! Its a new EXE game... No, wait, its a Shooting Star Rockman game. No, wait, I'm wrong. Its BOTH! Yes, Capcom is making a Rockman EXE / Shooting Star Rockman Game (Battle Network and Starforce in the U.S.) cross-over game. Maybe the EXE series still has some life?

Unfortunately, that is all we know about the game right now. We'll find out more from the September issue of Coro Coro Comics, which will come out in mid-August.

On a side note, there has been very little significant Rock/Mega Man news lately. That is why there have been no updates. Maybe the new game will change this? Also, the forums went down earlier today because of some unforeseen errors. They have been corrected and the forums are back up. Unfortunately, all post made, all chat messages, and all members created since June 8th have been lost. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Mega Man 2 on iPhone / iPod Touch - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 3-29-2009
Own an iPhone / iPod? Then you're in luck. Mega Man 2 is now on the App Store for $5. It isn't quite the same game, though.

The gravity in the game is very messed up, as Mega Man now jumps higher, and he gets knocked back further from attacks. This new jumping ability allows Mega Man to go places where he should not, and even jump over some obstacles, like floating platforms. The game seems easier to me (not a good thing), as well. The controls are not very good, either. The game features a on-screen joystick and two buttons, that often don't realize that you tapped on them. Mega Man can now fire a rapid stream of bullets, as well.

Ign, actually, gave it a 1/10. Not good. While I do not think it is nearly as bad as they say it is, it certainly is NOT the original Mega Man 2.

Despite all of that, however, I still say that, for any Rock Man / Mega Man fan with an iPhone / iPod Touch, I say get the game. It gives you a little taste of the Mega Man experience, even when you are not near a NES, or other other platform that has a classic Mega Man game on it.
If this was a review, I'd give it a 5.5/10, simply because it is a Mega Man game that can be played on the road without carrying a Gameboy / DS / PSP with you.

More Downtime (Updated) - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 3-16-2009
The maintenance went well. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone. If you see anything that does not work, or causes errors, please report it to me.

Thanks,
MegaMan1311

The site will go down again tonight (Tuesday - March 17) on or around 6:00 PM EST (GMT-5) for some rather heavy server maintenance. That is about 6 hours from the time that this news post was made. I will be staying up all night, until it is done.

I had some issues with the backups last night, preventing me from doing much of anything last night, so it has been rescheduled for tonight.

The site should be back up by 8:00 AM EST on Wednesday March 18.

New Version of the MegaMan News Widget - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 2-17-2009
I have upgraded the MegaMan News Widget to version 2. This version actually works (the previous one broke when we last upgraded the site) and has a design update.

There is NOT a Windows version, and there most likely will not be one anytime soon. Its always a possibility that I will find time to build one, but do not expect it, as I probably won't find time. One was in development at one time (and it got pretty far), but it also does not work now, and it is very dated, so all the previous work will need to be redone. I apologize for this, but I have other priorities first...

The MegaMan News Widget requires Mac OS X 10.4.3 or above.

THE BATTLE FOR THE DIGITAL WORLD CONTINUES IN MEGA MAN STAR FORCETM 3 FOR NINTENDO DSä

Black Ace and Red Joker Double the Possibilities

SAN MATEO, Calif ¾ Jan. 22, 2009 - Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced that Mega Man Star ForceTM 3 (MMSF3) for Nintendo DSTM will be coming to North America in early summer 2009. MMSF3 will come in two different versions, Black Ace and Red Joker, allowing two friends to share unique items and powers utilizing the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, enhancing their individual characters.

As in the previous games, MMSF3is a unique blend of action and role-playing game (RPG), combining the high intensity combat that is the hallmark of Mega Man® games with Star Force's strategic battle system. By defeating enemies and boss characters, players earn "battle cards" that enhance and evolve Mega Man's abilities and attacks.

New to MMSF3 are "Noise Changes," random enhancements that change Mega Man's form and unlock new abilities. The two versions of the game, Black Ace and Red Joker, each have over 100 unique Noise Types that can be combined with Mega Man to unlock elemental powers based on earth, air, water and fire. The new Noise feature will add an exciting randomness to battles, encouraging players to explore, collect and battle across the digital world of MMSF3.

In MMSF3, players will travel between the physical world and the digital world via electromagnetic waves that form "wave roads." Geo Stelar, the protagonist of the game, can see these wave roads through usage of his unique "visualiser" tool. Once in the digital world, Geo can merge with the electronic life-form known as Omega-Xis to become Mega Man. The wave roads are being overrun by mysterious "noise" that change the player's environment and powers in different ways. This noise is being generated by an approaching gigantic meteor that threatens both the physical and digital worlds of MMSF3, forcing Geo Stellar and his crew to fight the oncoming threat to save two worlds. Fortunately, Mega Man discovers that he can control the Noise, using the new "Noise Change" system to transform into many different forms, including the ultimate "Black Ace" or "Red Joker" forms.

Starforce 3 To Be Released in August - Posted by MegaMan1311 on 1-19-2009
In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, Starforce 3 was reviewed. They used Japanese screenshots, but said that the English Version would be out in August. Finally, an exact date!

Mega Man Brings the Noise

Mega Man is back with new forms, new perils, and a more mature look in Mega Man Star Force 3 for DS.
There?s no rest for young Geo Stelar and his alien companion Omega-Xis. The pair - who join forces to form Mega Man in his most recent incarnation - have already defeated the forces of evil on two occasions, but they?ll be facing their biggest challenges yet this August with the North American release of Mega Man Star Force 3: Black Ace and Mega Man Star Force 3: Red Joker.

Following the same action-oriented RPG formula of the previous games in the series, Mega Man Star Force 3 lets you explore the real world as Geo and the electromagnetic-wave world as Mega Man, gathering info, conversing with NPCs, and solving puzzles as you go. You?ll also get into random battles that play out in real time on a three-by-five grid, in which you?ll use randomly chosen battle cards from your deck to blast foes with a variety of weapons.

This time, however, the stakes are higher, and - as per the Mega Man norm - there are new twist on the familiar premise. A meteor (dubbed Meteor G) is hurtling toward Earth, and in addition to the threat of collision, Mega Man must deal with the ?noise? that?s being caused by recent technological advancements. However, the effects of noise aren?t all bad; you can actually harness its power to cause random beneficial transformations to Mega Man. There are more than 100 Mega Man forms in all, including the two ultimate forms: the Black Ce and Red Joker, each of which is exclusive to the corresponding version of the game. Each game has other exclusive transformations as well.

In addition to the Noise Change system, Star Force 3 features several new story and gameplay elements, such as interactive avatars called Wizards and the ability to stack and scatter battle cards in combat (which adds an extra layer of strategy). You can also expect a slightly more mature story and a similarly aged-up visual presentation that?s influenced by traditional Japanese mech designs. Mega Man Star Force fans should look forward to the series? deepest, most promising installment yet.
