Megaman Zero 4
Hello ! Welcome to MegaX’s first game review! This review will be on Capcom’s latest Megaman Zero game series installment for Nintendo’s portable video game system, the Gameboy Advance.
The Megaman franchise spawned several sequels along with other Megaman series including Megaman X, Megaman Zero, Megaman Legends, and the popular RPG series-Megaman Battle Network. As you know the first game in the Megaman series was released in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Megaman was an instant hit, and struck a chord with video game fans across the nation. The game’s innovative concept of giving its hero the ability to acquire the enemy’s powers after being defeated, along with an interesting story, and excellent game play, catapulted Megaman to the top of the list as every gamers’ favorite game. Thus Megaman Maniais born.
Now on to the Megaman Zero 4 review.
The story takes place right after Megaman Zero 3.After the evil Dr.Weil has gained control of Neo Arcadia, he starts treating all the residents there badly. It doesn’t matter if you’re a reploid (robot) or human. During this time a lot of humans have begun to flee Neo Arcadia. Weil catches on to the human’s escape and orders his reploids to bring back the escapees. The Resistance Base catches on to this event and goes to help the escaping humans. The Resistance sends their best reploid fighter to help .They send the Legendary Hero, Zero.
The gameplay for this game is very similar to other games of the Megaman series. It’s a side-scrolling action adventure. You go through your missions with a point system that determines your rank. Your rank determines if you get the enemy’s ability or not. If you have an A or S rank you get the bosses ability. The points you get after a mission is determined by how fast you finish the mission, how much damage you took, how many enemies you wasted, the weather, and Cyber Elf. This Megaman Zero has a feature that you can’t do in the other Megaman Zero games, you can change the weather in a level for better or for worse. But if you go through the mission with a hard weather condition you will get more points. You should go back to the level later after you’ve beaten the mission with a good weather condition to uncover the secrets in the level. A Cyber Elf in this Megaman Zero game is a one elf that you can feed it to give it powers to help you on your missions. But there is a point subtraction if you use the powers of the elf beyond it’s maximum level. To increase this level beat more bosses.
This Megaman Zero game also has another feature that the other Zero games didn’t have, the ability to make Chips to upgrade your self. The parts you get from enemies are used to make these chips. This adds a good “scavenger hunt” element to the game. You have to search for certain enemy parts to make a chip that you want. The Zero Knuckle is a weapon that is exclusive to this Megaman Zero game. It allows you to steal enemies’ weapons and use them for your self. Cool andsimple!

The controls of this game let you use all your weapons very conveniently, since you can equip two weapons at a time. The controls are very easy to master for anyone. This game is very addicting like any other Megaman game is. It has nice sound effects that add some realism to the explosions. This game also has some voice acting in it also. Zero makes sounds similar to Link in Ocarina of Time when releasing his charged up weapon attacks.
The good points of this game are that it has explosive action gameplay, it has a very dramatic story as it progresses through the game, the challenging missions it has to offer, and that you can unlock special mini games if you meet certain requirements in the game. The bad points of this game is that it is difficult to get an A or S ranking in Normal and Hard modes and surviving in Hard mode is quite a challenge. Overall I think this is a very great game to add to any gamers’ Gameboy Advance Library.
